Truong Buu Nhu – The winner of the District-ranking Contest for Excellent Students
In the academic year 2012 – 2013, the Department of Education and Training of District 3 once again held the
District-ranking contest for excellent students. This contest is held annually to improve the quality of education
and promote the “good learning, good teaching” movement of the schools in the district. Through the contest, excellent
students are selected to attend the City-ranking contest
Physics is often considered to be a dry and difficult subject because of its formulas and experiments. But for Truong Buu Nhu,
a student of class 9/13 at Cong Hoa Campus, Physics classes and experiments in the lab always attract her.

Truong Buu Nhu has been studying at The Asian International School since the third grade and has been an excellent student
for the last consecutive years in both the Vietnamese Program and International English Program. In particular, Truong Buu Nhu
is very good at Physics and she has been selected to join extra classes for the contest candidate team. To the pride of her teachers,
Truong Buu Nhu became the winner of the District-ranking Contest for Excellent Students 2012 - 2013.
Speaking about the process of preparing for the contest, Buu Nhu said: “I started attending extra classes for the contest candidate
team in September. Every day after the official study hours, I took part in the extra class from 16:00 to 17:30. At the extra class,
my teachers and I spent much time solving difficult exercises and my teachers provided me with more solutions for advanced exercises”.

In addition to study hours at the extra class, Buu Nhu spends much time studying Physics at home. She has an interesting habit, that is,
when faced with difficult exercises or feeling stressed, she listens to Secret Garden’s symphonies. Sometimes, she solves her exercises while
listening to the music. She admits this helps her concentrate. Unlike her friends, Buu Nhu does not spend a whole day studying before exams
because she thinks it is ineffective and harmful to health. She says: “Every day, I arrange time for studying appropriately. When the test
day comes close, I stop studying and relax by reading books and watching TV. Besides, I have time to help my mom with housework such as
cleaning the house, washing dishes…” By knowing how to arrange time to study, Buu Nhu always gains high academic achievements.

facilities provide the best conditions for learning. In addition, all of the teachers always guide and teach me conscientiously so that
I can make progress day by day. Also, my classmates are very friendly and united”.
