Following the academic success at The Asian International School, Trinh Hoang Nam continues to gain excellent academic achievements when he won the second prize in the City-ranking Contest for Excellent Students 2012 – 2013”
A student with love of studying English
Of all subjects at school, Nam likes English most. Therefore, when starting studying at The Asian International School from the sixth grade, he realized that The Asian International School was an ideal educational environment for him. Besides, he soon realized the joy of learning English, he said: “I think studying a foreign language has its own good point and it helps me a lot in the future.”

The time for extra classes for the contest candidate team is about one month before the contest; hence Nam and his teachers take full advantage of the classes to review complex grammatical structures and necessary knowledge for the contest. “My teachers at the extra classes provide me good materials and exam questions. The other subject teachers encourage me and reduce the amount of homework so that I have more time to focus on the contest,” Nam said.

Beside the support and encouragement of the school teachers, the incessant effort of Nam is a precondition for his success. Talking about tips for learning English, Nam said: “For me, practicing and learning from experience are two important factors helping me study English effectively. In addition, we have to read more materials in English, practice listening and speaking skills every day, learn new vocabulary and grammatical structures and correct our mistakes. Finally, the most important thing is we have to be self-confident and do not be shy”.
Self-confidence
Self–control and self–confidence help Hoang Nam gain high achievements from domestic and international competitions. For Hoang Nam, he always tries his best and does not work for high achievements. This helps him eliminate unnecessary pressure when attending the competitions. Nam said: “I should try my best in order not to regret because the chance of winning is equal to all.”

On the first day at The Asian International School , Hoang Nam is very new to the surroundings, but 6 years later, he is the man who brings pride to his family and The Asian International School teachers. Talking about the school, Nam said: “I think the educational environment of The Asian International School is suitable for those who want to study in Vietnam or study abroad. The school has full facilities, high quality teachers, rich materials and a logical schedule. And studying both Vietnamese program and International English program at the same time provides students with a solid foundation of knowledge. In addition, the school’s extracurricular activities help students improve their living skills”.
With the knowledge learned at The Asian International School , Hoang Nam’s dream is to study IT Management in Singapore. Speaking about his dream, Nam said: “My dream is to learn a lot of useful knowledge from the advanced countries in the world so that I can contribute to building my country when I come back”.
