Mai Trong Nhan won the second prize at "14th Le Quy Don Prize on Khan Quang Do magazine in the school-year 2012 - 2013"
Le Quy Don Prize from Khan Quang Do magazine is a traditional contest organized by Education and Training Department and Khan Quang Do magazine for high school students. The contest aimed to help students widen their knowledge and improve their skills through a helpful contest. Preliminary round of "14th Le Quy Don Prize from Khan Quang Do magazine" took place from September 15th 2012 to May 2013. The participants did a composition test for 3 subjects including Literature, Math and English based on their grade. The exams were posted through 15 terms on Khan Quang Do magazine and divided into 2 periods. The awarded students in each period attended an examination on Le Quy Don Festival in order to be rewarded.
Promoting the proud achievement of Ho Thien Nhan - the valedictorian of "13th Le Quy Don prize from Khan Quang Do magazine in the school-year 2011-2012", Mai Trong Nhan – a student of class 8A1, Pasteur Campus, went to the final round of "14th Le Quy Don prize from Khan Quang Do magazine in the school-year 2012-2013" and won the second prize.
This was the first time he attended the contest, and it was commendable when Mai Trong Nhan competed excellently with thousands of participants from 200 high school students in Ho Chi Minh city and nationwide provinces. He competed with 511 participants in the final round. The result is worthy of Mai Trong Nhan's efforts as well as the expectations of the school and his family. With this excellent achievement, Mai Trong Nhan was awarded by Ministry of Education and Training. AHS also cited his achievements and granted 5% tuition scholarship for the school-year 2013-2014.

Mai Trong Nhan has been studying at the Asian International School since the first grade. During that time, he has been an excellent student of the Vietnamese program and a fair-good student of international English program. Being different from his scholar look, Mai Trong Nhan is active, interested in learning and willing to help his friends. Nguyen Minh Duc - Mai Trong Nhan's classmate said: "For friends, Nhan is funny and outgoing. He's also diligent, hard-working, and passionate. Nhan always tries his best to do difficult exercises; besides, he is always willing to help his friends".

Mai Trong Nhan shared when he was asked about himself: "In study as well as in life, I always want to learn new things. Taking part in "Le Quy Don prize from Khan Quang Do magazine" is the way for me to learn and expand my knowledge. I really want to take part in Le Quy Don Prize although the competition is very difficult. For me, this competition is not only an opportunity, but a challenge also".
Speaking about the preparation for the contest, Mai Trong Nhan said: "At home, my parents ordered a subscription to Khan Quang Do magazine for me. My mother and I usually read and do exercises on the magazine in order to have experience. After school, I always do the exercises on the magazine at night; I consider them as my homework and try to finish in time. Joining Le Quy Don Prize, I was encouraged and facilitated by my teachers at school. I feel very lucky when I received care, love and support from my parents as well as my friends and teachers".

Being interested in intellectual competitions, Mai Trong Nhan thinks that it is a way to study. Studying at class is not enough, we need to search and improve our knowledge any way, any time. However, we don't only learn, we also need to arrange time suitably between learning and playing to have a better academic result.
A passion for football
Speaking about his hobby, he said excitingly: "Although I don't play football well, I really like this sport because playing football makes me feel energetic and comfortable. Football is not only my passion, but also helps me to improve my health to study and have better result. Every break time, my friends and I enjoy playing football in the school yard. In addition, I also enjoy studying physical education. My teacher is very sociable and funny. We always have funny and interesting lessons".

Speaking about his school, Mai Trong Nhan said passionately: "Going to school is my joy. I feel like AHS is my second home with a lot of happy memories beside my teachers and friends. Truthfully, having a chance to learn and play at The Asian International School is a joy and pride for me"
