IPS bustles with lion dance festival to celebrate Mid - Autumn 2013
The lunar calendar includes the Mid - Autumn Festival on 15th August. In Vietnam, this is a children's festival, also known as "moon watching festival". To celebrate this special festival, people often hold a lion dance or dragon dance, decorate lanterns as well as do many interesting activities for children. At The Asian International School, all IPS students bustle and feel excited to celebrate the Mid - Autumn Festival with a special and impressive lion dance.

The lion dance festival was held at all IPS campuses from September 9th, 2013 to September 18th, 2013. The content of the fesival included three items: King Monkey versus Taurus Lucifer, Two Lion Competition and Lion walking on the ball. The lion dance team brought all students special and impressive performances.
When drumbeats and loudspeakers rang, two lions suddenly appeared from behind the stage. IPS students' applause and shout made the schoolyard at The Asian International School more boisterous. Luminous eyes and happy faces were common emotional states of all students when they saw their favourite lion dance performance.

The atmosphere was more lively when students had a chance to directly touch the lions and communicate with Ong Dia. Even some mischievous students hugged Ong Dia to their heart. The Asian International School was full of a happy and cozy atmosphere of the Mid- Autumn Festival.

In addition, lion dance masters' attractive acrobatic skills and clever movements made the atmosphere at IPS more bustling than ever. With happy faces, all students eagerly waited and intently watched each performance.
Interesting and eye-catching performances
Lion dance in the Mid- Autumn Festival was to send best wishes and bring peace to everyone. For IPS teachers and students of The Asian International School, these shows were extremely significant because it brought to all students a happy atmosphere in the children's festival. All students had a lot of fun and laughs as well as enjoyed themselves beside their teachers and friends. It also aimed to help students understand more about the nation's traditional cultural festival. The Mid- Autumn Festival is a meaningful custom in terms of care, filial piety, gratefulness, relationships and love; therefore, all of us, especially students, must understand, maintain and develop this meaningful custom.

"The Mid- Autumn Festival is our expectant event, especially as we have a chance to watch the lion dance performances. I'm very happy and excited. I like Ong Dia most because he's very friendly, funny, and usually rubs our head. I hope that there will be more interesting festivals like this".
