2022-2023 AY Community Service Plan

I. Objectives:

Originating from the motto, vision, mission and guiding principles of The Asian International School, students' community service activities aim to accomplish the following objectives:

- Motivate and stimulate students to learn beyond their borders in order to instill internationalism in education, be willing to express themselves, actively participate in community service activities and foster discipline in the school environment.

- Inspire and nurture the spirit of helping and sharing with other people, thereby aiding in improving students’ social responsibility and global citizenship skills.

- Stimulate intellectual attributes, maintain facilities to access global knowledge and improve social skills.

II. Participants, location, time:

- Participants: Students from Grade 1 to Grade 5.

- Location: Primary Campuses of The Asian International School.

- Time: From February 20th to May 31st, 2023.

III. Details:

- From February 21th, 2023 to the end of February 27th, 2023, Class Teachers announce the plan and have students fill out the application form to join the teams on a voluntary basis.

- On February 28th, 2023, Class Teachers finalize and send the list of registered students to the IPMs.

- Community service teams and the basic duties of volunteers:

+ Volunteers at the library:

• Remind peers to follow library rules.

• Contribute ideas in order to build a friendly and growing library.

• Remind peers to put shoes and schoolbags neatly and in the right place.

• Guide peers to return the books to the right place after reading.

• Organize reading activities with Library Staff.

• Guide peers on how to access the electronic library.

+ Volunteers maintaining discipline:

• Remind peers of the “Students’ Regulations”.

• Keep peers moving in line quietly into the lifts, on the stairs, into the dining rooms.

• Remind peers to use appropriate restrooms, return chairs before leaving.

• Remind peers not to run or romp in the hallways.

+ Volunteers conserving the environment:

• Water plants, remove trash and leaves in the school yard.

• Maintain cleanliness on campus.

+ Volunteers designing banners for school activities:

• Support to design banners for school activities.

• Take photos to be stored in the archives of the Social Media Department.

• Design badges for school activities.

- The activity hours of the volunteers are as follows:

+ From 6.30 a.m. to 7 a.m.

+ From 9 a.m. to 9.20 a.m.

+ From 10.40 a.m. to 11 a.m.

+ From 3.50 p.m. to 4.10 p.m.

+ From 4.10 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.

In addition, the volunteers who design banners can also carry out their work from home.

- From March 1, 2023, the volunteers officially participate in the community service activities at the Primary campuses of The Asian International School. Teachers and team administrators meet with volunteers for the announcement of the objectives, tasks, rules, and specific instructions on how the teams work. Teachers, team administrators will discuss, finalize and commend the volunteers every Friday.

- On March 31st, 2023, IPMs organize the awarding of badges to commend the volunteers at the school yard.
